University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen am Rhein

The University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen am Rhein (since 2012, previously University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen am Rhein) was transferred to independence as a university of applied sciences from the University of Applied Sciences of the Rhineland Palatinate, founded in 1971, in 1996. With more than 4,200 students and about 80 teachers in primary employment in four departments, it is actively integrated into the metropolitan region Rhein-Neckar. Its offer includes courses of studies in the area of economic and social sciences. The practice reference of the offered courses of studies is one of the most important focuses from the beginning, combined with international orientation. In a dialogue with the economy and its needs, the study offer is being expanded continually. Its competence is in the business management courses of studies with an international alignment, with intense mediation of business management functions at the focus of most courses of studies. The studies offer for logistics is targeted at this.

International Exchange

The area International is responsible for international cooperations with partner universities in Europe (Erasmus) and outside of it, as well as for the central coordination of the foreign contacts of the University of Applied Sciences. There, potential international students and exchange students from partner universities are informed about options of stays abroad during their studies (studies and internship), as well as about scholarship programmes for stays abroad. Questions about the organisation of their stay in Ludwigshafen am Rhein can be answered here as well.

Charter of Diversity

The University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen am Rhein signed the Charta der Vielfalt in December of 2010. The university of applied sciences now belongs to a group of approx. 900 companies and public facilities that consider the introduction of a corporate culture based on recognition and valuation of diversity to be a key factor for their success. In the scope of this, the university of applied sciences considers diversity in its culture and in processes, informs and raises awareness among its employees and regularly reports on current trends, conferences, projects and many activities.

Diversity is one of the greatest riches of mankind. This is about the valuation of diverse potentials and about understanding this as something positive, to perceive it more strongly and to consider it a mutual enrichment. In the educational area, diversity (management) is targeted at superordinate social targets, i.e. the implementation of educational justice and equal opportunities, as well as use of the diverse potentials of students in teaching. Interaction with what is different is fascinating but may cause a lack of understanding, frustration or fear. It is clear that this interaction of "own" and "other" is not free of conflicts. The potential is in recognising that a creative and valuating approach to diversity may lead to something new from which all of society can profit. This is a continuous process in which everyone involved can learn from everyone else.
